Maria Karathanou

She studied painting, sculpture and stage design at the School of Fine Arts, on Technical University of Crete and attended seminars in Greece and abroad. She  has been a graduate student in the Graduate Program: Digital Arts School of Fine Arts and scholarship in the field of sculpture from Foundation State Scholarship. She has participated in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad and has worked with institutions, museums and organizations with major : National Museum of Contemporary Art / Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art / Skironio Museum Polychronopoulos / University of Arts in Belgrade / Ministry of Culture / Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity / Ε.Ke.The.Ch. / Comics Festival Babel. She has participated in cultural Olympics of 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing. The main feature of her work is the large-scale installations in public spaces. Her works are hosted in private and public collections in Greece and abroad. She has worked as a set designer / costume designer and art director, in more than 80 productions in cinema and theater.
