Pinter was born in Liguria in 1931 to a Hungarian father and an Italian mother. He spent his childhood in Hungary where he also studied and went to Italy after 1956. He achieved fame through his cover illustrations for Mondadori books (Agatha Cristie, Georges Simenon, e.t.c.) and his work in advertising. He is considered to be one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th century in illustration and graphic design. The Festival presented several of his original works for advertising campaigns ans book covers from the personal collection of Pietro Alligo.
