Elena Navrozidou

Elena Navrozidou studied fine arts and scene setting in France and holds a PhD at the University of Aegean. Since 1985, she has organized a lot of exhibitions (Paris, Athens, Kea, Thessaloniki, and Beijing). Her comics have been published in Para Pente and Babel. She has published various books: “Spring Night”, “The Temptation of St. Antony” (both co-authored with Kostas Vitalis), “Red Background”, “Etairikoi Dialogoi”, “Thessaloniki Memoir”, “Iconolatry”, “Poems of Sappho”. “Cosmogony”, the 3D comics installation, which consists of painting, sculpture and text, follows a computer game concept, based on the theme “Materials Resistance” of this year’s festival and on Hesiod text for the different races of people created by the Olympian Gods. The Golden, the Silver, the Bronze, and finally ours, the Iron for which, Hesiod writes, “How I wish I was not among the people of this race”.
