Daniele Brolli
Daniele Brolli was born in Rimini in 1959. A writer, painter, comics artist and screenwriter, he is the moving force in the Italian comics scene and has participated in the creation of many magazines and publishing houses. As a publishing advisor and translator he introduced the American beat and underground literature to the Italian public. From 1981 to 1993 he “translated” in newspapers and magazines “unpublished” short stories of well known authors, which were actually written by him, copying the style of the real authors and adding his own final touch. Brolli himself exposed his “plagiarism” and collected some of his short stories in a book called “Segrete Identità” (secret identities) published in 1996 by Baldini & Castoldi. In 2001, together with Francesca Guerra, they established the publishing house Comma 22, publishing literature, graphic novels and children books. Brolli continues his creative path in literature, painting, and comics.
